Arriving by public transport

Train: There is a Scotrail service from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh with a few trains each day. The journey takes about two and a half hours. Once you have arrived in Kyle there is the option to take either a bus or a taxi to Broadford.

Bus: Citylink run buses from Inverness and Glasgow to Skye, and also provide a regular local service between some of the stops on the island (e.g. Broadford to Portree). Stagecoach also provide a limited number of buses between local villages: Armadale and Portree (52 and 152), Kyle of Lochalsh, Torrin and Elgol (55, 150/155). Quite a few of these only run on weekdays and schooldays, so it’s worth checking the timetables.

Buses will stop opposite Otter Lodge on request.
